Meet the Owner, Cait
Birth and parenthood are unpredictable and monumental life transitions. Cait believes that compassionate care, nonjudgemental support, and evidence based information can make all the difference during your pregnancy and postpartum.
Cait Sobotka started with Chicago Birth & Baby - formerly known as The Chicago Doulas, LLC - in 2015 as one of the original birth and postpartum doulas. In March 2017, she took on the role of office manager, and in Fall 2017, she purchased Chicago Birth & Baby. After running a successful solo birth & postpartum doula and placenta encapsulation business and working as independent contractor for several years, Cait has supported hundreds of families through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum time.
As a mother and former nanny, Cait understands the needs of new parents and strives to make the transition to parenthood smooth and positive experience. She has a knack for organizing and bringing a sense of calm to the chaos of life with a newborn. Equally motivated as she is easy going, Cait is highly attuned to your family's needs and can help you make a plan. Her favorite part of working with clients is seeing them have a satisfying and empowering birth experience, and watching new parents get to know their new baby and gain confidence in their new roles.
Cait lives in the Humboldt Park neighborhood of Chicago with her husband, six year old son, and 3 (!) cats. When she isn’t busy supporting new families, you can find her hiking or camping, exploring the city with her family, or cooking delicious meals. She also enjoys traveling, Harry Potter, & binge watching Netflix. She is thrilled to be taking on her new role as the owner of Chicago Birth & Baby!
